John Kosinski’s Oblivion, the surface area of the Earth is set dry due to an alien intrusion. Tom Cruise performs role of Jack Harper, a soldier sent to the surface to do examinations, partly for a rehabilitation  partly for straggler clean-up. The movie trailer below from Universal Pictures provides a glance to the wide, lonely world and to Jack’s situation — after being taken by a group of people led by Morgan Freeman, he understands there is more to what he’s been scoop fed by govt powers.  Tom Cruise, Morgan Freeman, Olga Kurylenko, Andrea Riseborough and Zoe Bell plays the role in Oblivion movie.

 


The movie is obviously motivated and resulting from lots of other sci-fi stories, with a assisting of 2001, a sprinkle of Moon, a sprint of Independence Day and many more, all mashed together into what we see on display. Some might contact it clichrrd, though I experience like there happens to be thin range between plagiarising and using others perform to type a respect, something which I think Kosinski probably just about gets away with here.

 

As with Tron: Legacy, it’s a charming movie to look at, with extensive spectacular injections of the lonely globe, well-designed cool-looking devices and smooth set styles. Kosinski has proven that he’s clearly got a ability for developing his globe and inhabiting it with stunning graphics, yet I almost desired we got to discover it a little more here than what we get. I suppose in a story that is set on an Earth where civilisation has been cleaned from lifestyle there might not be too much more to see, but everything seemed very same-y with regards to landscapes, even if it all did look excellent. The experience of the movie is assisted by an excellent soundtrack by France electro-shoegaze group M83, pretty similar to Han Zimmer’s ranking for The Dark Knight at times I felt…
